การศึกษาค้นคว้าด้วยตนเองครั้งน้ีมีวัตถุประสงค์เพ่ือศึกษาวิธีทําเคร่ืองกรองน้ําจากวัสดุธรรมชาติ และเพ่ือศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนช้ันมัธยมศึกษาปีท่ี 5 ในการใช้เคร่ืองกรองน้ํา และเผยแพร่ผลงาน ได้ดําเนินการศึกษาค้นคว้าจากเว็บไซต์ และเร่ืองท่ีศึกษาสามารถนําไปเผยแพร่และนําไปใช้ให้ให้เกิดประโยชน์แก่ สังคมได้ ผลการศึกษาได้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับเคร่ืองกรองน้ํา ดังน้ีการประดิษฐ์เคร่ืองกรองน้ําด้วยถ่านกัมมันต์และวัสดุ ธรรมชาติซ่ึงได้แก่ หินกรวด ทราย สามารถใช้ได้จริง และจากที่ผู้จัดทําได้นําเคร่ืองกรองน้ําน้ีไปใช้ในการกรองน้ํา ขุ่นเพ่ือทดสอบประสิทธิภาพ พบว่าเคร่ืองกรองน้ําสามารถช่วยกรองน้ําขุ่นให้ให้มีความใสมากข้ึนและสามารถน้ํา มาใช้ในการอุปโภคได้
